Melody of Love No.8

Tags:

On November 7, 2021, the then-newly founded band DIVOC and Sarah Y.X. Wong came together for their very first fundraising concert in support of the Richmond Hospital Foundation, dedicating their music to the newly established In-Patient Acute Mental Health Unit at Richmond Hospital. That debut performance was a moving success, raising over ten thousand dollars.

Since then, through the Melody of Love —樂韻弦情— concert series, Sarah, her students, and DIVOC have continued to share their music in the spirit of giving. Over the years, they have collectively raised over $30,000, supporting not only the Mental Health Unit, but also the Emergency Department and the Medical Imaging Centre. Last year alone, their efforts raised over $5,000, with each concert becoming another meaningful step in transforming music into a gift of healing for the community.

Now, in its eighth year, the series returns to embrace the theme “Joy Within Music — 樂中取樂.” More than a celebration of performance, this theme reflects the heart of the series: finding joy through music and sharing that joy with others. It is a reminder that music is not only an art but a source of comfort, connection, and generosity.

Guided by Sarah’s vision, young musicians continue to grow not only in skill but in compassion, learning that the stage is not just a place to shine, but a place to give. Together with DIVOC, they have worked tirelessly to bring this year’s concert to life, with every note carrying a message of warmth and hope. With your support, this journey continues—nurturing young artists while helping Richmond Hospital provide exceptional care for our community. Through music, we celebrate joy, share kindness, and make a lasting difference.
