Box Around Your Heart Campaign

Ruth, the mother featured in this video, launched Box Around Your Heart to share her family’s journey, advocate for better mental health care, and rally support for Richmond Hospital Foundation’s $1.38M campaign to create a more welcoming, patient-centred space in the ED for those facing urgent mental health crises.

Box Around Your Heart wants to ensure all young hearts and minds are nurtured and protected! We’re dedicated to transforming mental health for youth and their families by creating safe, supportive experiences across all levels of care. Rooted in lived experiences, our mission is to ensure that every young person facing a mental health crisis receives compassionate, comprehensive support.

Thanks to our generous community, we are thrilled that the Richmond Hospital Foundation has reached its $1.38 million goal to renovate the mental health zone in the hospital’s Emergency Department. This transformation will create a calmer, more supportive space for those in crisis and is set to open this summer. With this milestone achieved, we’re proud to continue fundraising for the Richmond Hospital Foundation ensuring young people receive the ongoing mental health support they need beyond the hospital doors.

Foundry Richmond is a trusted space where youth ages 12-24 can access mental health care, free counselling, substance use support, and social services. But demand continues to grow, and more support is needed.

That’s why we’re directing our goal to raise $100,000 to now help enhance the youth counselling service, ensuring more young people can access compassionate mental health care when they need it most.

Together, we can continue to bring hope, healing, and a brighter future to youth and their families!

Donations made through this page will receive an electronic tax receipt immediately.
