NEW Yurkovich Family Pavilion

Launching a New Era of Health Care in Richmond

The new Yurkovich Family Pavilion will provide enhanced and increased health care services for Richmond’s growing population including an expanded emergency department, single-occupancy patient rooms with ensuites, 208 in-patient beds, new surgical centre, and a fully equipped medical imaging centre, to name a few. The new facility will be earthquake safe, constructed above the flood plain, and 100% carbon neutral.

Making Moves

The decant and demolition of the rotunda building, where the IV Clinic, Noakes Maternity Clinic & Outpatient Pediatric Clinic, and UBC academic spaces were previously located, is complete. The new UBC Medical Education Centre is now open next to the Milan Ilich Pavilion, and the relocation of the Psychiatric Assessment Unit makes way for the demolition and construction of the new acute care tower.

“Thanks to donors, a new acute care tower, the Yurkovich Family Pavilion, will mean that finally our facilities will be able to match the calibre of care that our Richmond Hospital medical teams offer.”
