Lingyen Mountain Temple (Canada) Nurtures Joyful Arrivals with a $10,000 to Richmond Hospital Foundation

RICHMOND, BC – In a commitment to support women’s health care, Lingyen Mountain Temple (Canada) has donated $10,000 to Richmond Hospital Foundation. This donation will help partially fund a new fetal monitor, supporting the ongoing effort to procure an important tool for maternal and fetal care.

Through their annual Charity Bazaar, held during the Bathing the Buddha Ceremony on May 4, and just a week before Mothers’ Day this year, Lingyen Mountain Temple (Canada) raised funds towards various charities supporting women’s health.

“Mothers are the embodiment of strength and harmony, just as the Buddha embodies compassion and wisdom,” says Venerable Master Tze Cheng, Abbot, Lingyen Mountain Temple (Canada). “We want to honour all mothers and ensure that those within our community begin their motherhood journey with the best, possible care and attention – starting from the very first moments they welcome new life into the world.”

Lingyen Mountain Temple (Canada) has been a committed supporter of Richmond Hospital Foundation since 2008, from contributing to the COVID-19 Response Fund to donating towards the Medical Imaging Centre Campaign for the future Yurkovich Family Pavilion.

“We wish to express our gratitude for Lingyen Mountain Temple’s many years of continuous support,” shares Spencer Gall, Chief Philanthropy Officer, Richmond Hospital Foundation. “Their generosity helps address important health care needs in our community and assists the medical team with the equipment required to deliver quality care for everyone.”

Fetal monitors play a key role in ensuring the health and safety of both mother and baby during pregnancy, labour, and delivery. New and more monitors at Richmond Hospital will help meet the growing needs of the community and ensure all families receive high quality care.
